Is This A Dagger I See Before Me?

Yes, and it’s headed for your spleen. ("Spleen" is one of those guaranteed funny words. Like weasel. "Weasel Spleen" is a)incredibly funny, and b)a good name for a rock band. Yes, I ripped off Dave Barry. Like he’s ever going to see this page.)

Anyway…. daggers…

Daggers are the traditional enemy of the rogue… both those who literally take the class, and those of all roles who find they must engage in sneaky fighting. Daggers are small and light, easily hidden on one’s person, and have many utility uses, so that even in places where swords or bows are illegal, most folk other than slaves or the lowliest of serfs will be permitted ownership of a small blade. It is no wonder, then, that the enchantments placed upon daggers often serve duplicitous ends… while the following weapons should show their utility in almost all situations, they shine most in urban environments.

Read on, then, for the Dagger Of Venomous Rebirth, the Dagger of Deadly Disguise, and the Blade Of Obsidian Anguish

The Dagger Of Venomous Rebirth

This blade is invariably curved, and inscribed so as to resemble a snake, uncoiled and ready to bite. The hilt is often of a green gem, ranging from simple green malachite for the lowliest of these blades, through jade for those of finer make, and up to emerald or even rare green sapphire for greatest of them. No matter how much polishing is done, the actual blade is pitted and seemingly corroded, but this is a deception; it is as sharp as any blade can be.

Dagger of Venomous Rebirth (Level 8+)

After you stab your enemy with this envenomed blade, the poison you used seeps once more from the metal, ready to be used again.

Property: Anytime a poison is applied to this blade that produces an effect that a save can end, the save is made at -2.

Power (Daily): Minor Action. After this weapon has scored a hit while poisoned, the blade re-poisons itself, allowing the venom to be used a second time.

Power (Daily): Immediate Reaction. Trigger: You have hit a target with this weapon while it was poisoned, and you are about to attack a second target as part of the same attack. Effect: The blade re-poisons itself.

Dagger of Deadly Disguise

What can possibly be worse than coming up the body of your loyal guard, crumpled to the ground in a slowly spreading pool of his own life essence? Doing so while in the presence of a man whom you believed was that loyal guard….

Dagger Of Deadly Disguise (Level 3+)

As your victim falls with a final gurgle of shock and pain, you feel your features melt like pewter in a tinker’s forge and then reform themselves into his semblance…

Effect: You may choose to polymorph yourself into his exact likeness, provided he is within one size category of you. None of your abilities, attacks, defenses, etc, change in any way, though you appear to be wearing his armor, carrying his weapons, and so on. You may retain this form for five minutes, and may extend this another five minutes by spending a healing surge. (You may do this until you run out of surges).  You may end this as a minor action.

Obsidian Blade Of Anguish

This dagger of black crystal is of apparently primitive construction, perhaps from one of the barbarian tribes of Vashail or one of the outer archipelagos. Nonetheless, it has found its way into the hands of operatives in the most sophisticated cities on the continent, for what it lacks in outer craftsmanship, it makes up for in efficiency…

Obsidian Blade Of Anguish

As the blade leaves your opponents body, you twist it just so. A small fragment breaks off and remains in the wound, where it tears at your enemy’s flesh…
